HBC Elvanto Access Policy

"You are witnesses, and so is God,
of how holy, righteous and blameless we were
among you who believed." 1 Thes 2:10

At HBC, we consider it very important that the details we have received from visitors and members are kept extremely confidential. Not only do we want to be righteous and blameless in our conduct with people's details, but we want to give people every confidence that we are blameless and leave no room for slander. That is, when it comes to handling people's details, we want to be above reproach.

Conditions of Use

As someone who will have access to the HBC Database (Elvanto), it is expected that you will endeavour to use the database in a wholesome and righteous manner, and soley for the purpose of building up Christ's kingdom with HBC.

This means a few things:

  1. It is expected that, if you were to step down from your ministry role or were to change church (for whatever reason) you will stop using the database and immediately inform admin@hunterbiblechurch.org or a HBC Staff member.
  2. It is expected that you will ONLY use the database for the purpose of your specific ministry role. E.g. If you are following up newcomers, you have no reason to check someone's ministry responsibilities.
  3. It is expected that you will protect the confidentiality of the data in the database. This has several aspects:
Do not share your username or password with other people.
Do not share any person's details from the database with anyone unless it is a part of your ministry responsibilities.
Ensure you log-off after using the database.
Speak sparingly about the database - have access is not something you shoudl bring attention to or boast about.

Summary

Having access to the HBC Database places you in a sensitive leadership role (even if only doing administrative duties and entering data). Therefore, please be aware that any misuse of the database may be brought to the attention of the Staff, and in certain circumstances, also the elders, and even HBC members and congregations. Misuse will not be tolerated.
